National Nutrition Week 2026 – Department of Community Medicine

Farookh Academy of Medical Education Hospital & Research Institute (FAMEH&RI), Mysuru, observed National Nutrition Week 2026 on 7 September 2026 at Government High School, Gerasanahalli, Mysuru.

The Department of Community Medicine organized an interactive health awareness programme for students of 8th, 9th and 10th standards, focusing on balanced nutrition, healthy food choices, physical activity and healthy lifestyle practices during adolescence.

The programme included sessions on nutrition and healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and basic first-aid awareness for snake and animal bites. Students were introduced to the ICMR My Plate concept and practical approaches to making healthier dietary choices.

The sessions were conducted through interactive discussions, practical examples and student participation, helping reinforce the importance of healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle.
