World Health Day - Departments of Community Medicine

On occasion of World Health Day 2026, an awareness Jatha and a multi-specialty health camp was organized by Department of Community Medicine in Handhanahalli village on April 7, 2026, under the theme "Together for health. Stand with science."  Activities were inaugurated by  Head of the Department of Community Medicine Dr Sudharshan BP . Awareness Jatha was conducted involving MBBS Phase-1 students where students walked through the roads of the village with banners posters and slogans on health promotion. Departmental faculties and specialists from OBG, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Dental, and Paediatrics participated in the camp and provided free screenings and healthcare to 132 beneficiaries. Communicable diseases in adults and paediatric population, non-communicable conditions in geriatric population were treated and those requiring further management were referred to FAMEH & RI. Program conducted in collaboration with local leaders, HFW staff, ICDS staff and volunteers was a grand success and benefitted the villagers.
