Comprehensive Specialty Health Camp (Elephant caretakers)

On September 16, 2025, FAME H&RI under the Department of Community Medicine,organized a comprehensive specialty health camp at the Mysore Palace Premises specifically for the mahouts and elephant caregivers participating in the Dasara procession. Operating from 9 AM to 1 PM, a multidisciplinary team of specialists from Orthopedics, Dermatology, OBG, ENT, Ophthalmology, Community Medicine, and Pharmacy provided essential medical care and facilitated the early detection of various health issues. 

The initiative proved to be a significant success, demonstrating effective inter-departmental collaboration to deliver targeted healthcare to a unique and vital community. The event concluded with a gesture of appreciation from the FAME H&RI management, who distributed jackets to all the participating mahouts to support their well-being during the festival season.
